Nothing says "here comes Santa Clause" like a jolly cup of mulled wine. I used to not like mulled wine, but I have found that the secret is adding enough honey to take away the tartness.
Ingredients:
- 250g of Orange Grove Chandler Honey
- 1 bottle of a full-bodied red wine. I like using Pinot Noir, but feel free to use whatever you like drinking normally at room temperature.
- 3/4 cup of water
Optional in whatever combination you prefer:
- whole black peppercorns
- cinnamon stick
- cloves
- star anise
- cardamom pods
- allspice berries
- orange zest
- brandy
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a pot and slowly bring to a hot (but not boiling) temperature on the stove. Strain out any floating spices.
Serve with a cinnamon stick and orange zest to garnish.
