This drink is delightful on a hot day, but also is one of my favourite drinks to sip if I am feeling under the weather. These three ingredients are the holy trinity of natural cold-and-flu symptom busters. Add a bit of zip back in your step!
Ginger: a natural antibacterial and antiviral ingredient, helps your body be in best fighting shape against cold and flu symptoms. The slight heat of ginger clears out sinuses and puts some pep back in your step.
Lemon: naturally acidic, lemon helps to cut through phlegm and clear a plugged nose. It is also packed with vitamin C—an excellent nutrient for taking care of your body during a cold.
Honey: used as an all-natural cough suppressant, which also helps fight a sore or itchy throat. Like ginger, honey is also naturally antibacterial and antiviral.
250g of Lemon & Ginger Chandler Honey
1/2 cup of hot water
1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
4 cups of ice
In a glass or heat-proof boil, mix Lemon & Ginger Chandler Honey and hot water. Stir well until the honey is dissolved.
Fill a two large pitcher with ice. Juice the lemons, add in honey water mixture, and top with cold water. Enjoy this tangy and sweet treat!
